Mailbox Keys

We have worked with the USPS over the past few weeks to deliver the new mailbox keys to all of the resident's old mailboxes. Yesterday (Friday, Nov 20th), the USPS started delivery of mail to the new mailboxes but several of our residents have not yet picked up their mail keys!!

We cannot deliver the new mail keys again, so please contact our Resident Services office and schedule a time to come pick up your new mailbox keys. (Most mailbox numbers will not change, but a select few will have to change so please refer to the information attached to the keys to ensure that you are directed to the correct number.)

New Team Member

We have a new team member at the Sun Lake community that we are proud to introduce!

Victor Cintron is a new Service Technician.

Our new team member is a highly respected and a very friendly addition to our team. Look for him all around the community providing great service for all of our residents!

Water Color Concerns

Many of our residents have notified our office with concerns over the color and consistency of the water. We have contacted Seminole County and they informed our office that an air bubble had formed in their hydro-electric water tank that has stirred up some sediment in the tank. These sediments are normal and not harmful and the water poses no heath hazard according to Seminole County. Running your water will help clear up the condition.

Community Updates on RSS

Services like iGoogle, myYahoo and more allow their users to add RSS feeds for convenient updates to select news feeds (read more about RSS). Because of the convenient nature of this service, we have added a way for you to import our Sun Lake Community Blog updates into your personal RSS Reader!!

It's easy to add to your RSS as well! Just scroll down any page for this blog site, look on the right hand side of the page for the "Subscribe" button and choose the option that best fits your RSS Reader! There are a few options (as pictured to the right) and you can also copy the link address from the "Atom" post to paste directly into an RSS reader for a program or even for an app on your iPhone!

Gates are Closed - Do you have a remote?

The gates have closed for our community and we want to thank every resident who has verified their information in our systems before the deadline! We will continuously update the information as new residents move in or if your phone numbers change.

We noticed that there have been a few lines that have piled up around the front gates from residents waiting to use the directory. Please remember that the gate remotes are the most convenient method of access for entry into the community for our residents and can be used at both gates. There is a simple $50.00 refundable deposit that you will have to pay in check or money order to our office and we can provide you with a very convenient key fob gate remote that will allow you to access the front (small) gate and the rear gate (resident remote only).

We want to express EXTREME caution with using the gates: please do not tailgate other vehicles or enter through an exit only gate. Law enforcement has informed us that damage caused to either of our gate systems can result in felony property damage charges! To avoid damage to your vehicle, very large fines and entanglement with the legal system, please ensure that you are obeying all procedures for entering our community!

As was stated in the flyers delivered to every apartment, we need you to go to the directory, search your name and push the 'Call' button to verify that your number is correct. If you find any errors, please fill out the flyer and return to the office or email SunLakeLifestyle@aimco.com to have your information updated. Please note that we will only put names and phone numbers for actual Sun Lake residents, not friends or family members who do not live at Sun Lake. Thank you.

The Gates Are Operational!

During the transition of the gate systems at Sun Lake Apartments, we have encountered a few "hiccups" and we appreciate your patience during this process. We have completed service on the gates and we now want you to confirm the phone numbers that need to be in the directory.

We will have all phone numbers that are on file updated in the system by Saturday, October 10th. Please go to the directory before the gates close to confirm that the number associated with your name is correct and works properly in the system. Flyers will be delivered to every resident's door and each one has a form on the back to fill out for any changes that need to be made.

If the number in the directory is incorrect or doesn't work, this form needs to be completed and returned to the office immediately!

New Valet Trash Service

We are proud to introduce a change in our valet trash service for all of our residents! We have switched the company that services the door-to-door valet trash that is included for the residents at Sun Lake.

The changes that you can expect from this service is:

• Valet Waste will deliver new trash bins to each doorstep.
• Bagged trash can be placed in the bin between 6pm and 8pm of each day of service; Trash placed out before or after service will result in fines assessed to your apartment ledger.
• Service days for valet trash are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
• There is no service on holidays (e.g. July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve/Day & New Years Eve/Day).
• Collection starts promptly at 8pm in the evening - All trash must be in the bin by 8pm as Valet Waste's team members work very fast.
• All trash must be bagged and tied - no loose trash permitted.

Newsletters & Communication

You may have noticed lately that we have not delivered any newsletters directly to your door. After we received some feedback from many residents, we have developed a few different methods of communication for the residents. This saves on paper wasted on newsletters that people are not interested in reading or keeping.

This website is a convenient method of access to information regarding our community. Just bookmark the site, or type in http://xr.com/sunlakeblog to easily access new information. To subscribe to updates or become a follower, just look on the right of this page, near the bottom of the column there is a section to subscribe or sign in with your Google, AIM, Yahoo or other accounts to become a follower.

Facebook
Using this social networking site, you can join in on the discussion of events at Sun Lake, comment on pictures from events and get up to the minute notifications about the community through a site that you already use and love! Just head over to http://xr.com/sunlakefacebook and click "Become a Fan" to connect your profile to our page!

Online Calendar
Using Google's Calendar system, we have a Sun Lake Events Calendar online! Type in http://xr.com/sunlakecalendar to view the calendar and then click the "+Google Calendar" button in the bottom right corner to add our calendar to your own Google Calendar for regular updates. Google's system also has options for email or SMS text message reminders of your events, so you never miss a Sun Lake activity or even to pay your rent!

Email
Starting in October, we will be sending a few mass emails to all residents who have an email in our computer systems. If you notice that you are not on the list, please contact our Resident Services Office to update your email address for your name!

Rent Reminder!!

Don't forget that Rent is due Tuesday, September 1st!

If you are writing a check or bring a money order, please remember to note your building and apartment number on the payment so that it can be properly posted to your account in a timely manner.

It is not necessary to write seperate checks for rent and utilities-- the payments are posted to the same account and one payment will suffice. Additionally, it is not necessary to bring your payment in an envelope! You can help save the paper and save the environment by just bringing a single payment to our office!

Pay Your Rent Online - Easy & Simple

Its easy and simple to pay your rent online! Using your checking or savings bank account, you can use our online payment center to make a one-time payment or set monthly automatic payments so you don't have to remember to even pay rent!

Go to www.aimco.com and click on 'Resident Sign In.'

Choose 'New User? Register today, its free!'

Follow the steps online and then call us at 407.321.7700 and ask to speak with the Resident Services Office to have your account approved for online payment.

If you don't have time to set it up online yourself, just stop by our Resident Services Office and set up an Xpress Rent automatic payment schedule for your rent-- all you need to bring is a voided check!

Scrapbooking Club

Let your creative juices flow ... come join us at our first monthly card making and scrapbook event. Have fun with your friends and get creative. We will be making handmade cards using all kinds of different techniques or if you're into scrapbooking, I'll have a few samples that you can make as well. All you need to bring is a good pair of craft scissors and yourself. All the materials you need will be supplied. Cost - $10.00 for cards / $15 for scrapbook pages. Paddle Boats and Kayaks are HERE!

Hey, everyone! School's about to start, but the summer isn't gone yet!!

We have recently received the kayaks and paddle boats for our community and they are available to check out at no cost to you!! During office hours, you may come to our Resident Relations Office and check out the boats or kayaks-- we'll even provide you with the life vests to wear for safety!

We hope that you're not ready to let this summer go without a relaxing afternoon out on our beautiful lake!! Come down and check it out today!

July Activities

As many of our Residents have seen, there have not been many activities or events at Sun Lake for the month of July. Many people are on vacation, enjoying the local theme parks or are having a wonderful time at the beautiful Florida beaches in our area. We have taken the opportunity to use this time to prepare an awesome August calendar with some very great events and we can't wait to share it with you!

Gate Instructions

The gates at the community have closed and we have some residents who have questions on how to access the gates.

The main entrance gates will be closed after office hours and is accessible by residents and guests. The south entrance gates are closed 24/7 and will be for residents only.

The convenient method of access for our residents is by using a key-fob remote that will open the gates and allow you to drive through effortlessly. These remotes are available at the Resident Services Office at a cost of $50.00 each. The cost is a refundable deposit (at the end of the lease upon return of the device) and can be paid with a personal check, money order or cashier's check.

Your guests can use the directory at the main entrance by using the 'A' button to scroll back and the 'Z' button to scroll forward on the alphabetical list to find your Last Name, First Initial (e.g. 'Smith, J - 123). When they have found the correct name, they can press the CALL button which will dial the number we have on file for you. After you answer the phone call, you can speak with the guest over the intercom to verify that this person has been invited, and then you press the number '9' to grant access and the gates will open.

To verify that we have the correct number in the gate directory (yes, we can use cell phone numbers!), please stop by the Resident Services Office during office hours.

Community Notice - Gates Are Closed!

NOTICE - The Gates Are Closed!

Please be advised that the gates are closed and that the convenient method of entry is the gate remotes. The remotes are available for $50.00, which is a fully refundable deposit and available at our Resident Relations Office.

Every apartment has a phone number in the gate directory for your guests to access, so please make sure that your phone number is accurate in the system. Using the directory is not the convenient method for residents to enter because the traffic backs up quite a distance while using this method.

Community Notice - Gates

We are pleased to announce that the gates will be closing effective June 15th. Every resident must provide us with a phone number for the call box to avoid being locked out. If you would like the convenience of an access remote, there is a $50.00 refundable deposit required to obtain one. Thank you for your assistance in making this transition to a gate controlled access community a smooth one!
